A variety of donated local art from watercolor to pottery will be offered in a live and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the north lobby of the IET Building.
Along with a variety of local art pieces, packages include a trip to New York, Michigan Opera House tickets and golf packages.
"This is a huge fundraising benefit to help the arts and the (Art Reach) school," said Marcie Otteman, an active volunteer for the benefit and a senior associate director for admissions.
Dinner will be offered at 5:30 p.m. and the live auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be a new addition to the benefit this year, an immediate buy table at which you may purchase pieces of art without having to participate in an auction.
Anyone is able to participate in the event. Tickets are $60, of which $40 dollars will be donated to the Art Reach program.
Sarah Francis, a Clinton Township sophomore, plans to attend the fundraiser with friends.
"I've always been interested in art and I'm really excited to bid for the trip to New York," Francis said.
This will be the 25th annual auction benefit the Art Reach Organization has held. Art Reach is a non-profit organization to support and offer understanding to all varieties of art for the community, Otteman said.
The Art Reach Center, located on 319 S. University Road., has a variety of art classes that is offered to everyone from children to adults. Also available through the organization is the Art Reach on Broadway Gift Shop and Gallery where local art is sold and shown.
